The Alpha Course

Wednesdays, January 11 - March 21, 6-8pm

Not meeting February 22

What Is Alpha?
Alpha is a wonderful opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a relaxed and friendly setting. For one evening a week for 10 weeks, you will enjoy great food, laughter and learning in a fun and friendly atmosphere where no question about life or God is seen as too simple or too hostile… questions like “Is there a God?” or “Why am I here?”

Is Alpha For Me?
Alpha is for anyone who thinks there may be more to life than meets the eye. People attend from all backgrounds, religions, and viewpoints. They come to investigate questions about the existence of God, the purpose of life, the afterlife, the claims of Jesus and more. Some people want to get beyond religion and find a relationship with God that really changes life. Others come for the close, long-lasting friendships that are built during the Alpha course. Many guests have never been to church, others may have attended church occasionally but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith. We would love to have you be a part of Alpha.

How Much Will It Cost?
There is no charge for the Alpha course. The delicious catered meal is free, and we also offer free childcare (ages 1-12), but you must register in advance.

What Topics Will Be Covered?
During our 10 weeks together, we will cover topics like these: Is there more to life than this? Who is Jesus? Why did Jesus die? How can I read the Bible? Why and how should I pray? Who is the Holy Spirit? How do I resist evil? Does God heal today? What is the church?

Who Should I Call If I Have Questions?
If you have questions, please contact Miriam Gray:

What Are People Saying About Alpha?
“I didn’t expect the warm welcome I received, the interesting discussions or the lack of pressure to speak in the small groups that followed. I found that I could express any doubts about Christianity, and that my opinions would be respected. If I had an issue with something, I had a forum to voice it with no need to apologize.”
– Anthony

“I realized that even though I had a limited religious background I was very naïve about Christianity. I was challenged by the thought of where my life was headed…why is it so empty? Even though I had a great wife and good kids something was missing.”
– Dane

“Before coming to Alpha my marriage was rocky… God had no meaning in my life… As I sat in Alpha I began to think this path to Christ was possible. Alpha helped me get into a relationship with God. It was the first time I felt loved and accepted for who I was.”
– Johnny

“I believe the Alpha course touches lives. I have seen so many people find a personal relationship with God and a quiet strength in their life after doing the course - me included - and it takes a proud man to say he never needs any help. Alpha is a non-pressured, and fun course, and it shows us how Christianity can be relevant and empowering to our lives. I've seen Alpha touch so many people over the years. I’ve seen it encourage people to find a very simple faith.”
– Bear Grylls, Alpha guest & “Man vs Wild” of the Discovery Channel
