empowerment
While many Christians agree on the person and work of Christ, their perspectives on the person of the Holy Spirit – who He is, how He works and His role in the life of the believer – vary significantly.
For us, God's Spirit is central to changing us from the inside out. He empowers us to do the works that Jesus did in releasing the kingdom of God on earth – His mission and now ours. John Wimber, the founder of the Vineyard movement, used to call this activity "doing the stuff." That is, not only proclaiming the message of Jesus, but also doing the things that Jesus did. This includes healing the sick, delivering people from demons and seeking justice for those marginalized by society. Wimber called Jesus a "word worker" and we believe that God has commissioned us to be "word workers" in carrying on His mission on earth.
To that end, Empowered Life Ministry offers events and classes each month to equip people by providing opportunities to meet the Holy Spirit, learn how to hear His voice and to accomplish His ministry on earth for God's glory.
The Empowered Life Ministry oversees Prayer Ministry Teams, Soaking Prayer Teams and offers a monthly Holy Spirit Empowerment Night. We offer classes on Healing Prayer, Hearing God, Spiritual Warfare and more topics throughout the year. We also have teams that will visit small groups to teach on the Empowered Life and hold Open Prayer for Healing services twice a month. Come and join us!

Soaking Prayer Ministry
God heals and delivers today. He physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually heals the sick and the injured. Sometimes, people are healed quickly by a single prayer, but often healing comes slowly through many prayer sessions – that is, they need to be "soaked" in prayer.
Scheduled Soaking Prayer Sessions
If you are a member or regular attender of Vineyard Columbus, you may submit an application to receive prayer on a regular basis. Once assigned, you will receive prayer from one of our prayer teams on a scheduled basis, twice a month for 30-60 minutes. Each individual is prayed for on a set day and time by the same team each session. Your prayer team will be made up of 2-4 members who have been trained in Soaking Prayer. Every 3-6 months, an evaluation is made as to how the process is going. Due to the length of our waiting list, we currently have a limit of 6 months or 12 sessions. Sessions are typically scheduled on weeknights or before Joshua House services.

Open Prayer for Healing Session offered by the Soaking Prayer Ministry
On the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month, beginning at 9am, we hold Open Prayer for Healing sessions at the church. People attending can receive prayer from our trained Soaking Prayer members throughout the session. This is an opportunity to be in the Lord's Presence for 2 hours. NO appointment is needed and all are welcome.
