Heinz Tschannen
Executive Chef & Food Service Director
Heinz was born and raised in Bern, Switzerland where he also met his wife, Debra, who is from Ohio. In 1986 Heinz and Debra were married and took a year off work for an extended honeymoon of travelling around the globe. During their trip thru Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the South Pacific, and North and South America they not only discovered and fell on love with ethnic food, but also with Jesus. The two were saved and baptized in 1987. Seven years later they moved to the U.S. with their two children, Jesse and Naomi. Heinz has worked in various restaurants in Colorado, Florida, West Virginia, Kentucky and Ohio. In order to solidify his cooking career, he went back to school to get his formal culinary arts education at Cincinnati State. In 2004 the Tschannens moved to Columbus and started to attend Vineyard Columbus. As a volunteer, Heinz worked in the café for two years and in 2008 he accepted the position of leading the café ministry.

While still working the regular café shifts Jeannine became more involved helping with events, and by August, 2005 was asked to begin working on staff full time. In addition to working the weekend shifts and helping with events, she took on the responsibility of all the Café product ordering and Café staff scheduling.
