Andy Saperstein

Pastor

Andy joined the International Ministries team in 2009 to assist in overseeing international teams, to help recruit and train Vineyard members to serve both here and abroad, and to assist in developing and communicating International Ministries' vision and values (particularly regarding the Muslim world), both at Vineyard Columbus and throughout the Association of Vineyard Churches. Andy and his wife, Kathy, have counted Vineyard Columbus as home for more than twenty-seven years, though for most of that time they have lived and worked overseas or out-of-state. Sent by the church in 1991, they served for nearly four years among Afghan refugees in Peshawar and Quetta, Pakistan. In 1998, they moved to Samarqand, Uzbekistan, where Andy led a team that established a broad educational development program and invested deeply in birthing local congregations. Andy recently moved here from New Haven, Connecticut, where he served as Associate Director of a Muslim-Christian dialogue and reconciliation program at Yale University. He has served in leadership roles in a number of churches and organizations over the years, and holds degrees in Linguistics from The University of Chicago (B.A .) and from The Ohio State University (M.A. and Ph.D.). Andy and Kathy have four children: Claire (born in 1988), Emma (born in 1990), Maggie (born in 1995), and Joseph (born in 1998). He and his family currently live in Uptown Westerville. In January 2010, Andy began serving as Co-ed Small Groups Pastor.
