Donations for Haiti
On January 12, 2010 Haiti was rocked by a devastating earthquake. A country, where 86% of its population already lived on less than $2 per day, was shaken to its core. "How can I help?" was a question I received from many of you.
Check out this Haiti Orphanage IMMEDIATE NEEDS LIST from our Vineyard Columbus partnership with Eyes Wide Open, Int’l:
- NEW Sheet sets for twin beds (fitted/flat and pillow cases) - 40 sets needed - must be 100% cotton - anything less would be way to hot down there.
- NEW packages of underwear of all sizes for ages 2-18.
- NEW Bars of soap, toothbrushes & toothpaste, girls hairbands

Maize Road Elementary School Service Project
We have adopted this school and we believe this will be a move toward the Vineyard Columbus vision of becoming a best friend of the city of Columbus. We want to soften hearts and draw others toward a relationship with Jesus.
Maize Road Elementary Toy Drive
For many of us, Christmas is a time of celebration and thanksgiving. It is a time filled with family and a time of praise and gratitude as we reflect on the birth of Jesus, our Savior. For a child in poverty, Christmas can be very different. It can reinforce the hopelessness they experience daily; it can be a vivid reminder to parents that they are unable to provide for their children.
Thanks to your love, in the past we have been able to bless Maize Road Elementary children, many who do know of the hope of Christ and wait, just like any other child, in anticipation for Christmas day. How much could your gift mean during this Christmas season? Your encouragement can be used by God to pierce the darkness of hopelessness of these children and their families.
As a Community Partner since April 2008 we know that many of the Maize Road Elementary children are being raised by single moms who are unemployed or under-employed. Many do not even have the basic necessities that we enjoy everyday. Some of the children are handicapped; many are low functioning, which has really affected the families financially.
This might be good project for you, your friends, your children or grandchildren, learning or remembering what it means to share and bless those in need. More families than ever are in need this year. Please help our SAM (Single Adult Ministry) reach out to those less fortunate and bless those in need by donating new toys for Christmas for kindergarteners-5th grade. Donations accepted until Dec 1 marked “SAM/Maize”.
Clothing Project
Please join us in blessing the children by donating new or gently used outerwear and athletic/jogging pants with elastic waists in the following sizes: kids-small, medium, large, & extra large and women's & men's small. Please bring your donation to any Singles sponsored event or contact Sher Isaacs.
Prayers Needed
Please pray for the Maize Road Elementary School and for our Vineyard Columbus Food Pantry which donates the food for our Maize Road Elementary School Food Project.

1st & 3rd Fridays
Our greatest need is for ambassadors of our Single Adult Ministry who help our guests feel welcome. We also want to get new people connected to SAM, church or community center events and resources that are helpful. Being a good communicator, a good listener and being able to develop friendships are especially important traits for these volunteers.
