urban ministry
Our Urban Ministry is a bridge between our church and the people of Columbus. "Build a bridge of friendship and let Jesus walk over it" is our philosophy of ministry in all that we do. Bridges of friendship may be built with food for the hungry, care for the sick or prisoners, or by bringing hope to the homeless and vulnerable. These bridges of friendship also include prayer for the sick and opportunities to graciously share the good news about Jesus Christ.
Opportunities to serve include 13 direct service ministries and several vital support ministries. Our dedicated volunteer leadership and regular volunteers bring hundreds of men, women and children love, mercy and social justice in the name of Jesus each week. Small groups, individuals and families are all welcome to participate and share the blessings of ministering with the poor. There are many service opportunities and commitment levels available, and there is a warm welcome awaiting everyone who "wants to play on God's team."
God cares deeply about people in our community and He hears the cry of those who are hurting. He will bring mercy and justice to them through people who are willing to give their time and hearts to humbly serve. God uses ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.
