For much of the last 2000 years, the Christian church has swung wildly from one extreme to the other concerning how we are to regard Mary, the Mother of Jesus. On the one hand, Mary is held is such high honor that she is worshipped alongside of Jesus. On the other hand, Mary is completely ignored and discarded. In this sermon, Rich teaches that the proper way to view Mary is to see her as an example, and through her life we are to learn that God is love, that God is awesome and welcoming, that God has a will for our lives that is good, and that God is holy and is deeply concerned about the poor.
