Well, maybe not everything – that’s a tall order. But we can certainly cover MOST of what you want to know.
First, what is the Launch Team?
Launch Team is how we are identifying those who would like to be part of our new Grandview campus. The Launch Team is important because getting anything new started takes a lot of work at the beginning. We are asking people to sign up for our Launch Team so we can know who is joining us on this journey. If you were a regular member of our Lane Avenue campus, we are asking you to sign up to be a part of our Launch Team and recommit yourself to be a part of our journey in this new season. If you are married and/or have kids, please sign up your spouse and/or children as well so we can best prepare for our kids and student ministries.
How long is this commitment?
We are asking Launch Team members to commit to being a part of our community until at least Easter, which is April 17, 2022. Of course, we would love to have you continue to journey with us even beyond that. But we would understand if you chose to be a part of something different at that time.
What are you asking of me if I join the Launch Team?
We are asking everyone to do 2 things:
- PRAY! Praying for our campus, our people, and our building is a vital part of our launch process.
- JOIN! We are asking you to come to our services once we launch on October 24. Before that, we are asking you to participate in 3 Launch Team gatherings.
And for those who are willing to do more, you can SERVE or INVITE. You can choose to use your gifts to serve in our church in areas like worship, hospitality, evangelism, or kids’ ministry. If you are a connector or gatherer, please invite people to one of our interest meetings or the vision gathering. The interest gatherings are fun environments where new people can get to know us in a relaxed way. The vision gathering will be a more organized event where new people can experience a bit of our vibe as we gather to worship, take communion, and hear a short message from Pastor Insoo.
What will the Launch Team gatherings look like?
There will be 3 Launch Team gatherings and they will each last only 1 hour. These will be in-person meetings that will be streamed live and recorded in case you miss one. The 3-part journey is designed to encourage, equip and empower you for this coming season in our community. If you happen to miss one on the gatherings, that’s okay. You can just watch the recorded video. If you are excited to serve, you will have a chance to learn about the different opportunities and connect with the ministry leaders. Know that you don’t have to serve to be a part of the Launch Team. And we won’t guilt or shame anyone into serving beyond their capacity.
What if I can’t commit to everything? Can I still join the Launch Team?
Absolutely! Church is a family. It means we are committed to each other. But it also means that we have abundant grace for one another. We understand that people are very busy. Don’t feel bad if you can’t join us for everything. Just participate whenever you can!
